Seed Fund
Creative Folkestone is delighted to announce the second round of Open Sesame Seed funding.
We actively encourage those who are currently under-represented in the arts to apply.
Open Sesame Seed offers seed funding of £1,000 to artists and creatives living and working in East Kent. The funding is open to artists and creatives working in the performing arts including theatre, dance, music, sound, circus, spoken word and performance/live art. It is offered alongside time in the Folkestone Quarterhouse auditorium with technical support if required.
We are taking positive action to achieve equal opportunities and encourage applications from people with backgrounds that are currently under-represented or under-supported within the arts and practitioners whose work is intersectional in approach including, but not limited to, under-represented Global Majority backgrounds, LGBTQ+ identities, gender identities, low socio-economic backgrounds, those with disabilities and/or caring responsibilities.
If a small amount of seed funding could help you kick-start an idea or project, please send an email to louellaward@creativefolkestone.org.uk telling us about yourself and describing your idea in around 600 words or with a link to a short video or sound file.
We don’t have a format preference and the recorded version should have the same content as if it were written.
This fund is for early-stage research and development and no performance outcome is expected.
Closing date: 9am on Monday 13 December.
Projects should ideally take place between January and May 2022.
Round 1 Open Sesame Seed artists were:
