The Plinth
On Thursday 17 September, 2020, a well-known artwork returned to the streets of Folkestone. Art Buff, by the street artist Banksy, was reinstalled in Folkestone's Creative Quarter. To celebrate its return, we are delighted to present The Plinth.
From Friday 18 September to Sunday 8 November, 10 vacant plinths will be placed in beautiful and unique, outdoor locations around Folkestone. You are invited to find a plinth and to use them to display your lockdown creations, artistic talents and special objects in celebration of Folkestone, community and creativity.
The Plinth offers a unique opportunity providing a space to showcase artistic talent, display meaningful objects and share ideas. Alongside the empty plinths there will also be three artist commissioned plinths and a performance plinth in Payers Park hosting a curated programme.
Find a plinth, celebrate your creativity and become part of an online exhibition #FolkestonePlinth
