Côte de Folk
46 The Old High Street
We are delighted to welcome Côte de Folk to The Old High Street just in time for the Christmas Lights Switch-on!
Côte de Folk is the creation of Sophie and Hannah – two ex-Hackney women who moved to Folkestone in search of sea air, space and a different lifestyle. After a successful month-long pop-up shop in the summer, they received keys to permanent premises at 46 The Old High Street, which is where they can now be found.
The inspiration for the brand comes from a love of eclectic pieces – vintage glassware, baskets from South Africa, French linen runners, raffia lampshades and Benourian Rugs sourced from Morocco. Firm believers in the expression “buy less and buy better”, Hannah and Sophie have sourced their pieces from a variety of sustainable places, alongside products made onsite in the shop. Much of Côte de Folk’s stock is fair trade, organic and ethically sourced from around the globe including South Africa, France, Hungary, Slovenia and Morocco.
