Nordic folk artist Elimarit releases debut single Heart So Cold on Friday 1 November, produced by collaborators of Jon Hopkins and Imogen Heap

Heart So Cold is crafted out of only one instrument - Elimarit’s vocals. It is a sparse and atmospheric track with a nod to traditional Norwegian folk, influenced by the artist’s upbringing on a Norwegian fjord.

The song was inspired by a profound personal loss; it explores the aftermath of suicide and finding stillness and hope in the midst of the storm of grief. Unafraid of vulnerability, Elimarit chose to record Heart So Cold without instruments to fully capture the raw fragility of its emotional content.

The single is produced by Cherif Hashizume, who has worked with Brian Eno, Jon Hopkins and David Byrne, and by Anil Sebastian, who has collaborated and performed with Imogen Heap, Guy Sigsworth and Manu Delago.

Originally from Stavanger, Norway, Elimarit is now part of the vibrant Creative Quarter community.

Folkeshare Timebank!

Folkeshare is a Timebank, created to benefit the residents of Folkestone and Hythe. It incentivises volunteers - for every hour you give, you will receive a time credit. Each time credit is worth one hour and can be used to access services provided by other local people and businesses who are involved in the time bank.

If you give an hour helping Doris with her garden in East Cliff or doing some DIY for us at Custom, you gain a time credit. You could ‘spend’ that getting an hour’s massage from trainee Tom or an hour’s German lesson from retired teacher Katharina, who in turn would gain a time credit that she might spend having a meal at Custom.... and so the network develops.
