The Guardian’s head of video, Charlie Phillips, and one of the programmers of Folkestone Documentary Festival, will discuss what he thinks makes for a documentary that really connects with audiences, and how documentaries can make a difference in the world.
With reference to the films showing in the festival plus the short documentaries he has commissioned for The Guardian’s online platform, Charlie will talk about the creative and political importance of the genre, and show The Guardian’s Oscar-winning short, Colette.
