David Holmes: Harry Potter’s Stunt Double
Book this event online or email the box office at boxoffice@creativefolkestone.org.uk
Don't miss this unforgettable evening with David Holmes, the beloved stuntman who worked as Daniel Radcliffe’s double in the Harry Potter films from the tender age of 11 until 25. David will discuss his poignant new memoir, The Boy Who Lived, sharing his incredible journey and how his spirit remains unbroken despite facing unimaginable challenges.
From the moment he stepped into the role of Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, David captured the hearts of fans. Tragically, during the filming of his seventh Harry Potter installment, a stunt went horribly wrong, leaving him paralysed at just 25 years old.
Yet, David’s story is one of resilience and triumph over adversity. Supported by enduring friendships with his Harry Potter co-stars, he has refused to let his injury define him. Instead, he has continued to pursue his passions, including an exciting venture into automobile racing, showcasing his indomitable spirit and determination.
Since 2020, David has also hosted the popular podcast Cunning Stunts, where he shares his insights into the thrilling world of stunts and the importance of resilience. In this event, he will connect with us via video link to discuss his inspiring memoir, The Boy Who Lived, offering a heartfelt glimpse into his life and experiences.
This event will be chaired live, in person, by Rosie Percy, who runs the cult Instagram account Cool as F*lke, which chronicles all the brilliant goings-on in our seaside town. Rosie swapped south London for the Kent coast two years ago and has never looked back.
Don’t miss this chance to be inspired by David Holmes and hear his incredible story firsthand!
