When music is discussed, the same words keep coming up: “streaming”, “playlists”, “distribution”, “sampling”, “platforms”, “tech”. But does any of this change our elemental pleasure in making and listening to music? Lauren Martin and Barney Hoskyns offer their thoughts.
Lauren Martin joined DJ Mag as Features Editor in 2019. She previously spent 5 years with Red Bull Music Academy and Red Bull Radio, and has written about electronic music for a variety of online and print publications, including the Guardian, VICE, Dazed, and others.
Rock historian Barney Hoskyns is the author of nine books and has written about music and pop culture for numerous publications including NME, The Times, the Guardian, Vogue and Mojo, of which he was Associate Editor.
Event chaired by Andy Miller.
*Please note: Lauren Martin replaces Laura Barton, who is unable to attend the festival due to circumstances beyond our control. Laura Barton's DJ set at 9.30pm will no longer take place*
