Sacconi Chamber Music Festival – Anna Phoebe (violin, electronics) & Richard Bundy (keyboard, synth)
The Sacconi Festival returns for its 17th year with a packed weekend of concerts curated by the Sacconi Quartet.
In this year’s late-night slot we present: ‘Dover Unlocked’ - a collaboration between Richard Bundy and Anna Phoebe exploring the intersection between architecture, landscape and artistic expression.
Anna and Richard have been developing the idea of occupying disused and locked historic buildings in Dover, exploring the relationship between architecture, memory and sound, and so Dover Unlocked was born. Spaces explored include the Maison Dieu, the Grand Shaft, Fort Burgoyne, the white cliffs of Dover and St Edmunds Chapel. They composed music for each space and recorded musicians, including the Sacconi Quartet, combining written and improvised music.
They will be sampling these recordings and creating a tapestry of sound which they will then experiment with live, responding on violin, vocals, keyboards and synths and featuring the Sacconi Quartet.
