Join Ray and Josie Carter as they share the results of a creative enquiry into how notions of race and ethnicity connect our experiences of our bodies to the land we live on, based on a series of encounters with the minerals and flora of the chalk grassland.
Incorporating fieldwork, walks, conversations with local people of colour and experiments in collaborative artmaking across media, chalk, grass, land delves into the artists’ shared histories, interrogating ideas of belonging, indigeneity and identity using elements of costuming, dance, poetry and visual arts.
Origins Untold is a community organisation and artists’ collective celebrating the presence of African and Caribbean-heritage people in Folkestone and Kent through arts, heritage and community-building
