Tereza Buskova: Mothers without Hands - Collective Ceremonial Baking Workshop
Sorry, this event has sold out
In this collective baking workshop led by contemporary artist Tereza Bušková women will collectively make a baked mother figure using bread dough. The workshop will also involve making pastry decorations which will be fried in oil and attached to fine twigs.
The baked mother and pastry adorned twigs and branches will then be carried to the communal brunch - Savouring Space - in a ceremonial procession the following day.
Multidisciplinary artist, Tereza Bušková (b.1978, Prague) lives and works in Birmingham. Following a BA in Fine Art, Bušková completed an MA in Fine Art Printmaking at the Royal College of Art in 2007. Bušková’s practice deals with ritual, tradition and craft, celebrating and reinterpreting Slavic as well as European customs through the media of print, performance and video.
Find out more about the Mothers without Hands project by coming along to Tereza’s Artist’s Talk in Brewery Tap at 6pm on Saturday 9 March.
