Alison Neighbour: Night Walk
Sorry, this event has sold out
Making space to enjoy walking at night
Embrace the darkness, the stars, the camaraderie
Booking closes at midnight Saturday 9th March
Since September 2023, artist Alison Neighbour has offered monthly opportunities to gather and walk together after dark, building towards a celebratory final event for Take Up Space festival, around a fire, co-created with the community of walkers.
We want to walk at night and feel safe to enjoy the experience, to connect with our beautiful natural world and with each other and create a regular event that is a safe space for women to enjoy the outdoors at night. We hope that the legacy will be a community of regular night time walkers who are able to appreciate our more remote outdoor spaces after dark and enjoy seasons-observing and responding to changes in the natural cycle and our connections to it in a new way.
The walks are inclusive events, welcoming to women, queer and trans people and our allies.
For the culmination of Take Up Space festival 2024, you are invited to join us at dusk for a silent walk to the sea and a toasty gathering on the beach. Wrap up warm and bring something to share - music, food, a poem, a blanket…
