The Cabinet of Living Cinema: The Snowman
Sorry, this event has sold out
Be utterly charmed this Yuletide by a unique live score played to the 1982 animation of Raymond Briggs’s magical story The Snowman featuring contributions from your good elves... sorry, selves!
The Cabinet of Living Cinema will perform the film score live on harp, viola, piano, clarinet, guitar, banjo and voice using DIY foley techniques to bring the film to life.
The musicians will be looking for sound effects for different images seen in the film including an owl, a toothbrush, a whale, the sea, a musical box, a running tap, feet jumping through the snow, and a tearaway motorbike! They’d like to ask the audience to help them so bring along some everyday objects – shakers, party blowers, bubble wrap, scrunchy paper, a hardback book or celery - and they’ll rehearse whatever you bring into the show before the film begins.
No participation necessary so don’t be shy - it will be super festive fun! And don’t forget to brush down your vocal chords for the unforgettable Walking in the Air chorus!
Suitable for children and adults of all ages.
